It is very rare that a Netflix show can be a call to action but that is precisely what happened to us. We chanced upon the documentary Daughters of Destiny about the Shanti Bhavan school and it had a profound impact on us. We were moved by what we saw and were motivated to do something to help further its mission. 

We wanted to raise funds for the school by doing a show that combined storytelling, fashion, visuals, music and dance. What better subject to do the show about than the iconic Indian attire, the Saree. The Saree holds a very special place in Indian fashion, history, culture and art. The idea for Timeless Drapes: Embracing the legacy of the saree was born out of our love for this special garment.
